So, who here is playing this game? I picked it up shortly after launch after reading some very prominent reviewers absolutely raving about the single player campaign. I can totally agree, the game is awesome and it's a definite throwback to the original 90's DOOM with "here's a gun. See that guy over there? Go fuck him up."
DOOM 3 always rubbed me wrong. Too much story, exposition, jumpscares... It seemed like every room or corridor you walked in to went like this: Enter room, go to the middle, the lights go out, enemies spawn all around you (especially behind you), kill them, rinse, repeat.
Sure, DOOM has a lot of mindless combat, but it's far more in line with the mindless combat in the original DOOM and Quake games... plus, the game runs like butter on my GTX 970, regularly sitting at 100FPS, even though my AMD FX 8350 is considered slow.
I haven't tried the multiplayer yet. Apparently it's not-so-great, but watching videos of it reminds me a lot of old-school Quake arena style play, which is in no way a bad thing, in my opinion. I'll definitely give it a shot once I'm done with the campaign...
Nearly all of my gaming time is consumed by world of warships :\
They need a doom 2016 shareware 9 level episode so I don't have to buy anything lol.
